Introduction

We are not your typical cruise couple. We’re a pair of hobbits who are more likely to be found in the woods than on a ship, and we’ve never even been on an airplane before this trip. Our friends thought we were crazy for choosing to cross the Pacific Ocean instead of doing something more comfortable on dry land, but that’s why they’re not hobbits! This trip has been one hell of an adventure so far with more excitement ahead as we sail into uncharted territory. Here is our story so far:

The cruise was an amazing experience.

The cruise was an amazing experience. It was a unique way to see the world, and one of the best travel experiences we have had.

We met so many people, who shared their stories with us and gave us advice on where to go next. We also had plenty of time for ourselves as well! We saw so many different places and it was great seeing them from a distance before we visited them up close later on in our trip.

We would definitely recommend doing a cruise if you are looking for an adventure in your life!

Fiji was beautiful and fun, but Vanuatu was more our vibe.

Fiji was beautiful and fun, but Vanuatu was more our vibe. We loved the people and the food, but it was just too hot for us to stay long. We were sad to leave, but happy to be back on the boat.

I love being on the ocean, even if it does make my wife nauseous.

When we’re cruising, I love being in the ocean. There is something about the water that just makes me feel alive and connected to nature. It’s also a great place to relax, which I think is important when you are on vacation with your spouse! Make sure you eat well and stay hydrated. The ocean can be unpredictable at times so it is important to pay attention to what is going on around you and make sure that everyone stays safe.

For a couple of hobbits, we are now pretty brilliant sailors.

We are now pretty brilliant sailors. We have learned a lot, and gone through our fair share of troubleshooting. We have also become more confident, relaxed and comfortable with the boat after spending so much time on her. I think it would be safe to say that we trust each other – as well as our abilities as sailors – a little bit more than before we left Australia.

We will be back!

The South Pacific is so incredible that we are going to return. We’re not sure when, but we will.

It took us a long time to get here, and it was worth every minute of the trip. If you want to see some of the best places in the world and experience what life on a sailing yacht is like (and we highly recommend this), then book your trip now!

Conclusion

Overall, we had an amazing time on our cruise. We got to see a lot of beautiful places and meet so many new people! I think it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made to go on this trip together. The only downside was the weather (too hot) and some bad food choices (I should have listened more carefully when they asked what type of diet I wanted). But overall, it was great!
