The ocean’s vastness and complexity are a perfect canvas for the dynamic and versatile sport of sailing. With its emphasis on teamwork, technical skill, and strategic adaptability, sailing is an ideal water sport for Hong Kong, which is surrounded by the sea on all sides. This year, Hong Kong Life has chosen to support the local sailing team B.L.U. through sponsorship, with the aim of promoting the development and heritage of local sports culture, encouraging the public to engage in physical activity and adopt a healthy lifestyle. What is Sailing?
Sailing competition requires not only a strong team spirit and technical expertise but also a high degree of flexibility and strategic thinking. As the team navigates through the ever-changing wind and wave conditions, they must make quick adjustments to maintain their leading position. This dynamic environment mirrors the values of “Fearless against Challenges and Pursuing Excellence”, which is also the core philosophy of Hong Kong Life.
- Emphasizes teamwork and collaboration
- Requires technical skill and expertise
- Demands flexible strategic adjustments to adapt to environmental factors
The values of sailing competitions align perfectly with the philosophy of Hong Kong Life, which emphasizes understanding customer needs, adapting to market changes, and providing innovative insurance solutions. By sponsoring the B.L.U. sailing team, Hong Kong Life aims to promote a culture of sports and physical activity, encouraging the public to adopt a healthy lifestyle and become a part of a vibrant community.
“We believe that sailing is an excellent way to promote a culture of sports and physical activity, and we are thrilled to be a part of this exciting project,” said Jonathan Ko, Chief Marketing Officer of Hong Kong Life.
The B.L.U. sailing team has a rich history, with over half of its members holding sailing coach qualifications and more than 10 years of sailing experience. The team has actively participated in various competitions and has won championships in prestigious events such as the Island Race, the China Cup, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Sailing Competition, and the Macao Match Cup.
